We are so excited to be bringing you the first running of the NEW Fire Tower trail race at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation on June 7, 2026!

The half marathon will start at 8am and the 10k will start at 9am.

These new trail races at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation are sure to test your running.

The half marathon goes to all of the overlooks of the park in addition to the highest point (the site of the currently being reconstructed fire tower!). It also hits all of the rock features of the Rock Trail. (see map below)

The 10k hits the fire tower summit as well plus two of the six rock features of the park. The 10k course is a hilly and challenging test for any trail runner.

Sign up here to run in the race. If you can’t run we have many race volunteer opportunities plus a place to donate and show your support!

The race will help raise money for the Friends of the Fire Tower not-for-profit. The goal of the Friends group is to enhance the accessibility of the new Fire Tower and create educational opportunities at the fire tower site and around the area. The friends group is part of the Westchester Parks Foundation, a 501c3 charity.

Check historic photos, current progress photos, and some recent videos about the fire tower.

    Hi folks
Why so secretive about this new great
    Reservation trail run?
The reservation is my backyard and
so is the fire tower. I hike, walk and run 100 miles a month through the wonderful natural environment.
Haven’t heard a word about it.
Be real friends and act friendly and
share. Others care deeply about nature and the environment and healthy outdoor activities.

No secrets. There were articles in the newspaper, on facebook, instagram, emails to runners, and posts on this website — which has been active for three years. I’m not sure what else we could do. Sorry you didn’t know about it. Now you know.

Friends help I agree. We are missing a course map banner. Since you are in the park so much maybe you saw something? Thanks for any help you can possibly provide tracking it down.
